28th October 2013

On Monday 28th October 2013 at 15.30 at Sacca San Biagio sports facilities (Venice) a Press Conference will be held to present FREE- IT, a trasnational project supported by the European Union in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme, with the aim to help prisons operators in increasing employment and re-inclusion opportunities for inmates.
The press conference is jointly organised by “Il Cerchio” Social Cooperative and Consulmarc Sviluppo srl, respectively the project promoter and the project co-ordinator. The project partnership involves 11 partners from 9 European countries and it includes national and regional institutions, representatives of European prisons, enterprises and associations. More in details, the project contributes to the training of prison operators who promote vocational training for inmates. The scope, objectives and expected results of the project are consistent with the European Union strategies for the period 2014-2020. More in details they are related to:

  • The Europe 2020 Strategy proposed by the European Commission to promote smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. This includes different “flagship initiatives” directly or indirectly related to the themes of the FREE-IT project: the "European platform against poverty" initiative, to ensure social and territorial cohesion and the "Agenda for new skills and jobs" to modernize labour markets by facilitating the acquisition of skills throughout life
  • The new Programme for Social Change and Innovation that aims to protect the most disadvantaged groups and to structure innovative pilot projects to support large-scale employment and social integration
